Fuddrucker's is where Connie Francis and cholesterol meet. This casual, 1960s-style quasi-diner chain serves hamburgers, fries, a couple of steaks (including a ten-ounce sirloin) and a chicken breast, among other uncomplicated choices. Customers order at the counter and wait for a grill person to bark out their names before sitting down in the noisy dining room, which features an arcade of video games (including an anachronistic Ms. Pac-Man) for kids too bored to actually eat at the vinyl-covered tables. The tasty, oversized burgers come on toasted buns, while a tidy buffet of fresh vegetables and condiments provides plenty of toppings. The musical soundtrack dates back to the Kennedy administration.
