Choga Korean Restaurant

6920 W 105th Street
Overland Park, KS 66212
913-385-2151
Korea shares a border with China but has its own distinctive cuisine - heavy on rice, pickles and fish; barbecued meats called gogi gui; and sexy seasonings of red pepper, green onion, garlic, ginger, mustard and vinegar. Overland Park’s Choga is the oldest Korean restaurant in the metro, but what the dining room lacks in style or personality, the kitchen more than compensates for in deliciously seasoned grilled meats, soups and rice dishes. Dinners include banchan, an array of little plates - mostly pickled condiments and pastes like fiery kimchi, marinated tofu, vinegared cucumber slices and bean sprout salad - that are wonderful accompaniments for the beef bulgogi or the signature rice bowl called bimimbap. Choga only serves beer or nonalcoholic beverages to cool down those chile-fueled dishes.
