Enlightenment may not be on the menu at Alan and Julia Basa’s fledgling pan-Asian bistro, but creative fusion versions of dishes from the Philippines, China, Thailand, Singapore and elsewhere are in abundance. It’s a tiny place with big ambition. Chef A.J. Ang has created several masterful versions of Asian favorites and continues to tinker with the menu and its global culinary influences. It’s one of the few places in the region that offers Filipino chicken adobo, Korean bibimbap, British fish and chips, domestic beer and fried ice cream. - Charles Ferruzza
