Located in the heart of Westport, Buzzard Beach is the kind of place most people don't frequent during the light of day. Nightfall is a different story, however, as the place begins crawling with all types of barfly- often due to spillover from surrounding bars that close at 1:30. The rowdy fray usually includes college students, musicians who probably just played up the street, and even a visting celebrity or two (David Cross, Jared Leto, various Pitch staffers). Pool tables are downstairs, and the dark upper level feels like the galley of a ship, but the best seating is outside on the big wrap-around deck. The tall stools and tables found there are designed for your viewing pleasure; they're the perfect means for watching a typical Westport evening unfold- or wind down.
